A change, and of the irreversible ones, will occur if you implement a martial arts clock hour per day, for me, preferably Taekwondo. With this, the boys will reach the sixth grade as junior black ribbons, and have the whole high school to develop strength and power. Those who want will be able to compete at the level of fighting, and those who prefer will be able to do so only at the level of forms. There will be those who prefer to compete at an individual level, and those who choose to compete in a group. And those who do not want to compete will not compete, but everyone will have to practice and move up the rank.
For a moment imagine that in the bus, both the driver, the aunt sitting next to the window, and the buddy standing, are black ribbons in Taekwondo. Wherever you go, all boys and girls have the ability to fit the instep on your chin in less than a second, how about that? But, the thing does not necessarily pass through the archetype of «self-defence», which for that there are other much better arts, such as krav magá, used by the Israeli Defense and Security Forces, no. It is not. The issue is more about the collateral benefits.
For example that of «healthy mind in healthy body». A daily physical discipline ends up requiring the accompaniment of a diet, this is basic arithmetic. In other words, without the need for «nutrition classes,» children will learn from their martial arts instructors what foods are recommended for better physical performance, and what foods to avoid or restrict. And here a wink of coherence, if the instructor points out that soft drinks are harmful and that fruit juices are preferable, it makes no sense for the institution to sell sodas or juices filled with preservatives and similar chemicals.
The other collateral is the feeling of group that is generated, I refer to that feeling that have those who, for example, conform the football team of a course, that same feeling, but instead of that a part of the course palpite will do it the whole of the same, each section, and each class, because all will be in the same tune in terms of quality of effort, and will be more or less equal in obtaining results. All this framed in the seven basic principles of that martial discipline: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, indomitable spirit, brotherly love and science.
In addition, reaching adolescence in optimal physical condition, not only individually but collectively, is indirect advertising against habits that can be extremely harmful, such as tobacco and alcohol consumption. As you can see, the thing is going to leave aside those weekly classes of «Physical Education», which are absolutely useless, and go on to face in a serious and objective way the corporal component of the «future of the fatherland». This is quite apart from any sporting activity, which happens on the other hand. I am talking about what should be obligatorily included in the educational system.
